*Mainframe Developer *

*Long-term contract *

*Hybrid (Hartford, Connecticut) *

Brooksource is currently seeking a Mainframe Developer to support a large and exciting initiative for a Fortune 10 healthcare client. As a Mainframe Developer, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications within a fast-paced Agile environment. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, offshore teams, and cross-functional partners to ensure seamless delivery and communication across all phases of development.

*Required Skills & Experience *

· 5–8 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe environments

· Hands-on experience with *COBOL*, *JCL*,and *CICS* in enterprise-grade environments

· Strong understanding *DB2* for relational database management and SQL queries

· Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize batch and transactional processes

· Exposure to Agile methodologies and collaboration tools like *Jira*, *Rally*, or *RTC*

· Familiarity with *Git*, *Bitbucket*, or hybrid version control systems

· Experience with CI/CD tools such as *Jenkins*

· Ability to contribute to modernization efforts, including API integration and cloud migration

· Comfortable participating in daily scrum calls and coordinating with business stakeholders

· Skilled in managing offshore communication and providing clear status updates

· Understanding of healthcare systems, workflows, or data structures

· Ability to translate technical solutions into business impact within a healthcare context

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
