Position Summary

The Certified Arborist will oversee all aspects of tree trimming, pruning, and exterior tree care across Encompass-managed properties. This role ensures tree health, safety, and aesthetics while managing a team of grounds personnel. The arborist will serve as the on-site lead, ensuring compliance with ISA standards, contract requirements, and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct all tree trimming, pruning, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure all work meets ISA standards, Encompass contract specifications, and industry best practices.
• Supervise two ground personnel and assign tasks for efficiency and safety.
• Conduct site inspections to identify structural damage, pest problems, and safety risks.
• Review and sign daily reports documenting work performed, tree conditions, and any additional services.
• Utilize a bucket truck and debris truck for elevated tree work and oversee safe use of equipment.
• Coordinate with Encompass Facilities and the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) regarding scheduling, events, and site-specific requirements.
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained, sanitized, and safe for use.
• Provide recommendations for corrective actions, pruning schedules, and long-term tree health improvements.

Qualifications

• ISA Certified Arborist (required).
• Minimum 3 years of professional arboriculture experience.
• Strong knowledge of pruning techniques, tree health, pest prevention, and safety compliance.
• Experience operating and overseeing bucket truck operations.
• Ability to lead teams, coordinate schedules, and ensure compliance with detailed work orders.
